Raleigh City Museum Holds First Annual
"Back From the Beach" Used Book Sale September 3 to 8

Proceeds to Benefit the Museum's Exhibit and Educational Programming

RALEIGH, N.C. (August 9, 2002) - Settle down into the fall season with books (and more) purchased at the Raleigh City Museum's first-ever "Back From the Beach" Used Book Sale. The sale, to be held in the museum's main gallery, will feature hundreds of donated books running the full gambit of subject matter from children's books to romance novels, from general fiction to biographies and coffee table tomes. Also available will be a limited supply of donated videos, CDs, DVDs and cassette tapes. Most hardbacks will sell for $1 and paperbacks at 50 cents, and all proceeds will benefit the museum and its educational programs.

A special museum members-only preview sale, being held from 5-7pm on Tuesday, September 3, will kick off the book sale. The general public may then purchase books from Wednesday, September 4 through Friday, September 6 between 10am-4pm, and again on Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8 from 1-4pm. While all books will be bargain priced, look for "blowout" prices on the two weekend days as an added incentive to buy.

The museum will be accepting donated items for the sale through Sunday, August 25 at the reception desk during our regular public hours. Donations may include books, CDs, videos, DVDs and cassette tapes. Please bag or box your donation, and sort multiple books by either fiction or non-fiction. For more information on the Used Book Sale please visit the museum's web site at http://www.raleighcitymuseum.org/ or contact Jared Mestler, Museum Services Coordinator, at 832-3775 x12.
