Raleigh City Museum Names Dianne Davidian
Director of External Affairs
RALEIGH, N.C. (July 21, 2004) - Dianne B. Davidian has joined the staff of the
Raleigh City Museum as Director of External Affairs. Davidian, who has been
active in community affairs locally for many years, will lead the museum’s
fundraising efforts and work toward increasing awareness of the museum and
its mission.
"We are thrilled to have someone with Dianne’s qualifications and
experience promoting the museum," said Martha H. Waters, chairwoman
of the board of directors. "Instead of being one of Raleigh’s best
kept secrets, our goal is to become one of the city’s prime cultural
destinations and we are confident Dianne is the right person to help
us achieve that goal."
"It is truly an opportunity to become involved with such an incredible
resource for our community as we move toward a ‘new downtown’," said Davidian.
"The museum is an excellent place for all to not only learn about our
rich history, but to become engaged in an exciting transition for our
capital city."
Among her many civic endeavors, Davidian has served as co-chair of the
Triangle Division for the NC Museum of Natural Sciences capital campaign,
co-chair of Raleigh Little Theatre’s capital campaign and board chair of
the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Kids Voting North Carolina. She
was a founding board member and past president of the Alice Aycock Poe
Center for Health Education.
Her most recent endeavors include serving on the Capital Campaign
Steering Committee for the Junior League of Raleigh and as an executive
board member for the Methodist Home for Children Foundation.
Davidian was named "Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser" on National
Philanthropy Day 2000.
