December events at the Museum

RALEIGH, N.C. (November 30, 2006) - Please be sure to mark your calendars with these Raleigh City Museum events and plan to join us for a fun-filled educational experience in December.

Stanley Cup Appearance at the Museum: The Carolina Hurricanes will share the Stanley Cup at a private viewing at the Museum on Tuesday, December 9, 2006 from 9:30 am until 10:30 am. Members and invited guests are welcome to come and have their picture taken with the Cup. Bring your camera!!! Call 832-3775 for details.

RCM CHILDREN'S HOUR: "Holiday Postcard Making." Saturday, December 9 at 2 p.m. The tradition of sending holiday greeting cards first began by sending holiday postcards to friends and loved ones. Come to the Raleigh City Museum and enjoy making your own holiday postcards that can then be sent to family and friends. All materials provided. This lively hand's on children's program is open to ages 6 and older (must be accompanied by an adult). A. J. Fletcher Foundation Gallery. FREE!

"First Night Raleigh" Sunday, December 31, 2006: The Raleigh City Museum will be open from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm on New Year's Eve for this annual downtown celebration. Please come downtown to help ring in 2007! Artsplosure will be scheduling entertainment (tba) at the museum in the evening and the museum can use volunteers to help with gallery watching and greeting visitors that come to the museum this evening. Museum Closed For Christmas Holiday The Raleigh City Museum will be closed in observance of the Christmas holidays from Saturday, December 23 through Tuesday, December 26. The Museum will reopen on Wednesday, December 27.
