PAINTED ARCHIVES new works by pete sack
historic raleigh photographs re-imagined in paint
The museum's first ever one-man show, PAINTED ARCHIVES features local artist Pete Sack's colorful oil and watercolor paintings inspired by photographs from the museum's archives. The 30-plus original pieces highlight the places and people that have contributed to Raleigh's history. Historical information about the painting subjects is provided alongside the works.
PAINTED ARCHIVES runs from April 1-September 2, 2011 in the A.E. Finley gallery. Sack's work is available for sale during the duration of the exhibit, along with a limited edition exhibition poster signed by the artist. To purchase, please inquire with the Museum Store.
Exhibit curated by Ladye Jane Vickers and Marshall Wyatt.
