The Raleigh City Museum Presents...

Featuring a musical journey through time with the
Cyndra Fyore Jazz Quintet

Press Release: April 2, 2002

Join the Raleigh City Museum at Time Warp 2002

The Raleigh City Museum will host its annual spring fundraiser, "Time Warp 2002," on Thursday, April 18, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. This year's event will be held just outside the Museum's main gallery in the Historic Briggs Building on the 200 block of Fayetteville Street Mall and serves as the museum's premiere annual fundraiser.

"Time Warp 2002 is a vibrant celebration of music and history," says Jennifer Kulikowski, the Museum's executive director. Kulikowski added that, for the third year in a row, Carrabba's Italian Grill of 4821 Capital Boulevard in Raleigh will provide guests with a main course meal that includes salad, entrée and dessert. "We are proud of our continued community partnership with Carrabba's Italian Grill of Raleigh, and thank proprietor George Valashinas and his staff for providing our guests with a scrumptious dinner." The evening will also include music presented by the Cyndra Fyore Jazz Quintet and one of the area's most dazzling silent auctions.

Melinda Parry-Hill, event chairperson, says this year's auction items "range from creations by local artists and weekend getaway trips, to gift certificates and merchandise donated by area retailers - even a team-autographed hockey stick from the Carolina Hurricanes." Other prizes, including a vacation package, restaurant gift certificates, golf green fees and theatre tickets, will be raffled off throughout the evening. Raffle tickets may be purchased for $5 a ticket, or five tickets for $20, and raffle winners need not be present to win.

Joining the Raleigh City Museum for this festive evening are members of the Carolina Courage women's professional soccer team, WPTF-AM morning host Maury O'Dell; News14Carolina's reporter Mitch Kokai and anchors Claudine Chalfant and Mack Lee. Tickets for Time Warp 2002 are available for $10 advance and $15 at the door; attendance is free for current Raleigh City Museum members. Call the museum at (919) 832-3775 to purchase tickets or drop by Tuesday through Friday from 10am until 4pm and weekends from 1pm until 4pm to purchase them in person.
